Translation is not the only experience I have with games. In college I majored in game art, acquiring an understanding of game development and its environment. When translating a game scenario, I believe that I am able to retain a smoother process in addition to higher standards for QA (Quality Assurance) alongside the game development team.

Characters’ mannerisms, speech patterns, and tone are key storytelling devices in Japanese games. These are typically challenging to translate in English and can fall into the trap of being translated into commonly used phrases. I feel that this doesn’t show the game in its entirety. And so, manifesting a slightly more devoted representation of the original game world is a pure joy when I translate.
